Vocabulary /Expressions

"pub crawl":
when you go in many pubs in one night, and in each pub you drink a pint (beer), so in the end of the night you come back home "crawling" because you have drunk too much...


Rub Off: when two people "rub off" each other, it means that they fight;argue, provoke each other all the time.


A Chancer: someone who would try everything


Acting the maggot (Ireland): fooling and messing around; to behave in a foolish, childish, or annoying manner.


a big shot: is important and influential


a blackleg: carries on working when other workers are on strike


a busybody: always want to know about other people's private lives


a chatterbox: can't stop talking p.s.: chatter: "conversa fiada"


a daredevil:  loves taking risks and doing dangerous things


a figurehead: is head or chief but in name only as he/she has no real power


a gatecrasher: turns up at a party without being invited to it

locked: drunk people

holy joe: who likes to highlight him/herself and criticize someone`s else behaviour

effin and blindin': when you say bad words

I feel funny: I DON`T fell well, I feel a bit sick

Dirt little secret: "sexual secret", affair, or a "secret child" from an affair

kip: something bad/dirty, not comfortable

Gas: funny
